Effective June 27, 2023, in compliance with the MATE ACT the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) now requires all DEA certificate holders to take at least 8 hours of training on opioid or other substance use disorders, as well as the safe pharmacologic management of dental pain, to apply for or renew their DEA certification.
